Renting a 7 seater in Singapore solves a problem a saloon car cannot. Seven passengers, luggage for a weekend away, a stroller and a folded wheelchair, or three generations of one family heading across the Causeway together. Our 7 seater car hire fleet covers eight models from S$120 per day, with insurance, road tax, unlimited mileage and round-the-clock breakdown support built into every rate.
What Your 7 Seater Car Hire Rate Covers
Every MPV rental with us includes comprehensive insurance, road tax, unlimited mileage and full mechanical servicing in the daily rate. There is no separate mileage charge no matter how far you drive within Singapore, so a week of school runs costs the same per day as a week of island-wide errands.
Free island-wide delivery is included. We bring the vehicle to your home, hotel, office or Changi Airport at no extra cost. Self-pickup is available at our Kovan Hub office at 206 Hougang Street 21, a short walk from Kovan MRT, if collecting it yourself suits your timing better.
Should the vehicle need servicing partway through a longer booking, we arrange a replacement MPV so you are not suddenly short of three seats mid-trip. Breakdown and towing support runs 24 hours. Every car is deep cleaned between rentals, which matters more than most people think when children have been in the back row.
MPV Rental or 7 Seater SUV: Which One You Actually Need
Both seat seven on paper. On the road they behave very differently.
An MPV such as the Honda Odyssey or Toyota Estima has a low floor, sliding side doors and a third row genuinely built to be sat in. Boot space stays usable with all three rows occupied, which is the deciding factor when seven people travel with seven bags. Sliding doors also open fully in tight HDB multi-storey lots, where a swinging door would catch the car parked beside you.
A 7 seater SUV like the Toyota Fortuner sits higher, copes better with rough surfaces and carries more road presence. The trade-off is a cramped third row and almost no boot left once that row is in use. Four adults with luggage, it handles beautifully. Seven passengers, it does not.
Pick the MPV when the seat count is the whole point. Pick the SUV when you want ground clearance and rarely fill all seven seats. If you only need six seats, an MPV still works better than squeezing into a 6 seater car rental configuration, because the extra row gives you somewhere to put bags.
Our 7 and 8 Seater Fleet
Eight models across three tiers.
Entry tier. The Toyota Sienta 1.5 Auto is the starting point for 7 seater car hire. Compact enough for tight Singapore carparks, easy on fuel, and comfortable for a family of five with moderate luggage. It is the model most people book for weekday use rather than long trips.
Family tier. The Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 Auto, Toyota Estima Aeras 2.4 Auto and Honda Odyssey 2.4 Auto do most of the work in our MPV car rental fleet. Full third-row usability, sliding doors, and enough boot capacity behind row three for a weekend of luggage. The Odyssey has the lowest step-in height of the three, which counts if elderly passengers are travelling with you.
Eight seater and premium tier. The Hyundai Trajet 2.0 Auto seats eight, useful when seven turns out to be one seat short. It is the model to ask for if you are searching for a 7 seater van rental and need that extra place. At the top of the range, the Toyota Alphard and Vellfire 2.4 Auto offer power sliding doors and captain seats in the second row, and are regularly booked for airport transfers, wedding parties and client transport.
To weigh the models against each other before booking, read our guide on how to pick between the Odyssey and the Toyota MPVs, or see when an 8 seater beats a 7 seater. Full rates across every category sit on our car rental rates page.
MPV Rental to Malaysia
Our MPV fleet is VEP-registered with active RFID tags for entry into Malaysia, a requirement enforced since July 2025. Cross-border rental carries a surcharge from S$50 per day, covering the insurance extension into Peninsular Malaysia and the paperwork needed to clear the vehicle for entry. Saloon cars and MPVs can be driven as far as Kuala Lumpur.
An MPV is the right vehicle for this trip. Seven passengers on a four to five hour drive to KL need the legroom, and the boot needs to hold everyone's luggage at the same time. That combination is exactly what a 7 seater car rental from Singapore to Malaysia is built for, and it is why families booking cross-border trips rarely go back to two saloons.
Confirm cross-border eligibility when you book. Not every vehicle in a rental fleet carries Malaysia coverage. For documentation, border timing and route detail, see car rental to Malaysia from Singapore.
Daily, Weekly and Monthly MPV Car Rental Rates
Rates start from S$120 per day for short bookings. Weekly rates bring the effective daily cost down, and monthly bookings reduce it further, with the Minivan and MPV category starting from S$65 per day on a monthly arrangement.
Short term MPV rental suits weekend trips, airport runs and one-off family outings where you need seven seats for two or three days. Monthly MPV rental works better for families between cars, expats settling in after a move, or anyone waiting on a new vehicle delivery. Where the commitment runs past a year, long term car leasing gives the lowest cost per day of any arrangement we offer.
How to Book a 7 Seater in Singapore
You will need a valid Class 3 or 3A driving licence, your NRIC or a passport with a valid pass, and a credit card for the security deposit. Minimum driver age is 24, with at least two years of qualified driving experience.
MPV availability tightens sharply during school holidays and long weekends, for the obvious reason that every family in Singapore wants seven seats on the same dates. Book two to three weeks ahead for those periods. The Hyundai Trajet and the Alphard have the smallest inventory and go first. For ordinary weekday bookings, same-day or next-day collection is usually fine.

Frequently Asked Questions
A 7 seater car rental in Singapore usually means an MPV with extra passenger capacity and more luggage space than a saloon car. On Singapore Car Rental, this sits under the MPVs 7/8 Seaters category, which is separate from saloon, hatchback, SUV, and commercial vehicle rentals.
Singapore Car Rental lists its MPVs 7/8 Seaters page from S$120/day onwards, depending on the model. Its homepage also shows the broader Minivan / MPV category from S$65/day monthly, so the final rate depends on the vehicle and rental arrangement.
Singapore Car Rental publicly lists models such as Toyota Sienta 1.5 Auto, Hyundai Trajet 2.0 Auto, Mitsubishi Grandis 2.4 Auto, Toyota Estima Aeras 2.4 Auto, Toyota Alphard/Vellfire 2.4 Auto, and Honda Odyssey 2.4 Auto in its MPV category.
Yes, if you need more seats or luggage room. Singapore Car Rental describes its MPVs as having spacious interiors and boot space for several people, while saloon cars are a separate category, so the MPV is the better fit for bigger family or group travel.
Singapore Car Rental states its rental service includes unlimited mileage, 24-hour breakdown and towing, and complete mechanical maintenance and servicing. That means the 7 seater rental is tied to operating support, not just vehicle access for the booking period.
Yes, but you should confirm the exact vehicle and route first. Singapore Car Rental offers a separate Singapore-to-Malaysia rental service, while its MPV fleet includes larger passenger vehicles, so cross-border use depends on the booking scope rather than assuming every local rental automatically applies.
