Knowing how to rent a 7 seater car in Singapore saves a lot of back and forth at booking. How Renting a 7 Seater Works in Singapore

Renting a 7 seater follows four steps: choose the MPV, send your dates and group size, show your licence and pay the deposit, then take delivery or collect the car. There is no rigid online checkout. You tell our team your dates, how many people are travelling, how much luggage they bring and whether you are heading to Malaysia, and we confirm the right MPV and the rate before you commit.

For ordinary weekday use, same day or next day collection is usually possible. School holidays and long weekends are different. MPVs book out first in those periods, and the Toyota Alphard and Hyundai Trajet have the smallest inventories in our fleet, so book two to three weeks ahead for those dates.

Licence, Age and Documents for MPV Hire

A 7 seater MPV is a standard passenger car, so no special licence is needed. The Singapore Police Force licence rules define Class 3 as covering cars with up to seven passengers plus the driver, which takes in the eight seat Hyundai Trajet. Class 3A covers the same cars with automatic transmission.

Our own rules sit on top of the law. Every driver must be at least 24, with a Singapore Class 3 or approved foreign licence and two years of driving experience. Name every driver at booking, since each one must meet the same conditions.

What to bring depends on who you are:

• Singapore residents: NRIC and Singapore driving licence.
• Work pass holders: passport, pass card and licence. Foreigners living here longer than 12 months must convert to a Singapore licence.
• Visitors: passport and a valid foreign licence with an IDP issued in your home country, or an official English translation. ASEAN licence holders do not need an IDP. An IDP cannot be issued in Singapore for a foreign licence, so arrange it before you fly.

Choosing the Right 7 or 8 Seat Model

Match the model to your busiest day of the trip, not the average one. The deciding factors are how many people, how much luggage and where you will park.

The Mitsubishi Outlander and Toyota Fortuner also seat seven, but they are SUVs. Their third row is tight and leaves little boot space when in use, so they suit four or five people who want an occasional extra seat. What 7 Seater Hire Costs

Delivery and Collection

Delivery to your home, hotel, office or Changi Airport is free from 9am to 5pm on weekdays and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays, with at least one to two hours’ notice. A surcharge applies outside those hours and on Sundays and public holidays. You can also collect the MPV from our Kovan Hub office, 206 Hougang Street 21, near Kovan MRT. At handover, walk around the MPV with our staff and photograph any existing marks. Note the fuel level, check the air conditioning reaches the rear rows, and fold the third row once so you know how it works before you need it.

What the Rate Covers and What Sits Outside It

Every MPV rental includes insurance, road tax, unlimited mileage, full mechanical maintenance and 24 hour breakdown and towing. These costs sit outside the rate:

• Petrol. Return the MPV at the fuel level you received it, or an estimated refuelling charge applies.
• ERP, which applies from Monday to Saturday, and parking.
• Traffic and parking fines during the rental.

Driving a Rented MPV to Malaysia

Our MPVs are cleared for Malaysia as standard and carry active VEP RFID tags. You can drive as far as Kuala Lumpur, with a surcharge from S$50 per day on the days the car is in Malaysia. The VEP matters: Malaysia has fined and held Singapore cars leaving without full VEP registration since July 2025.

Two fuel rules apply. Singapore registered cars must leave with at least three quarters of a tank under the ICA three quarter tank rule, and foreign registered cars cannot buy subsidised RON95 in Malaysia, so budget for RON97.
